Virginia Tech Transportation Institute
Updating the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI) site consisted of simplification and clarification of the site and design. The original layout was overly complicated, outdated, and over used images as navigational links. The object of the site update was fourfold:
- Improving site navigation
- Simplifing the update and maintenance requirements
- Impove search engine optimization
- Increase usability and 508 compliance
These goals were met by:
- Simplifying the navigation and removal of navigational images
- Significantly updating the general CSS
- Standardizing the use of Alt text
- Adding appropriate Meta data
- Improving 508 compliance by updating HTML and use of CSS
